Singing a mix of original compositions and traditional blues, Dane and Hopkins collaborated on 10 songs with Dane soloing on six additional numbers. This 1996 release is the first time that all tracks from the original recording session have been issued together. The liner notes are written by Dane. The first half of Sometimes I Believe She Loves Me captures a nine-song 1964 improvisational jam between Barbara Dane and Lightnin' Hopkins which remains a charming, if not revelatory, meeting of the minds.
