British beat group active 1962-1968. Founded in London as Johnny Vallons & The Deejays, the group came to Sweden in 1963 for a two months tour in an artist exchange with The Spotnicks. It became five years. In the summer drummer Derek Skinner left for the Spotnicks and was replaced by Erle Morgan. Vocalist Johnny Vallons went back to England to wife and kid in 1964, and John Murray was engaged. At this time they shortened the name to Deejays. In 1966 Murray also returned to the UK, and was replaced by Clive Sarstedt. The other members were guitarist Pete Chapman/Clinton and Buzz Nelson on bass
