Mara, a 12 year old girl living alone with her grandfather, discovers that she suffers from an incurable illness, an aggressive form of cancer. She finds a way to escape her painful world: a magical yew tree, near a beautiful mansion of the HOSPICE Casa Sperantei palliative care center, which turns out to be a portal to different fantasy realms imagined by the children who are being cared for. With the help of a mysterious character, Mircea, and his trusted side-kick, the dog named Scorsese, Mara travels into her favorite story, "Childhood Memories" (a well-known Romanian book
