This is obviously not any type of complete collection, nor is it any type of official release. It's 'ultimate' for fans of the shorts & features era from the 1929-1940, with a handful of their early days before in the silent film era, and a little bit of post-1940 material added in as well. It's made up from 4 different Laurel & Hardy compilations, and they are all official releases containing DVD-9 Discs. The Flying Deuces are mixed in with the shorts & features era as well. The only restored video is the release of 'March Of The Wooden Soldiers', but the rest are mostly very clear for not being remastered. The shorts & features are all in their native 23.976 fps rate, and of course that means they play with smooth motion at the correct speed/tempo. I included everything contained in those 4 compilations here, so please share! The settings used in Handbrake are: Constant Quality with RF set to 18 Encoder preset to 'slower' with no special encoder tuning. This was used for the entire collection, and as you can see, the more film noise in a particular episode meant enormous file sizes. Some episodes were encoded to 35% of their DVD size, where a few others were close to the same size
